Thank you so much, Alex & the team! I wanted to clean up all the clutter on my camper’s roof. I reached out to Alex about changing out my a/c to a cruise n comfort 12v rooftop unit, which uses about half the amperage. I also wanted to relocate it from the rear to the front. I needed to replace my solar panels as well as install a new fan. There was a few items that came on the roof that I don’t use, which I asked that they remove and they patched, sealed and water tested. Alex was a pleasure to work with! He provided a fair price for products and labor. Most importantly, he said it would be 2 days of work so I would be without my home on wheels for a single night. Project End Results: -Quoted price was accurate -Ordered products and gave me an installation date right away -Work was meticulously done -All work was done on time and on budget! Bought my 2023 Ford Transit 250 in August 2024 and started my search for the best van customizer in the US. Lucky for me, after 4 months searching, I found Alex Jacobson owner of Beachside Custom Vans in Atlantic Beach Florida 4 hours away! Alex Jacobson and his crew are alll perfectionists. All I had in mind for my build was a cooled and heated interior for us, and our dogs, to travel light, and paddle or hike anywhere, plus park in a regular sized parking spot incognito. Our local beaches don't allow campers parked along the roadside. My van isn't a camper but an "air conditioned cargo van" that fits easily into a car or truck parking space while being used to meet our needs for a day on the beach, lakeside, mountainside...whereever and whenever. I really needed a flexible and removable interior floor plan to accommodate our watery, muddy, sandy and doggy activities... or comfortably clean dry space for overnight visits with family and friends. Alex installed a waterproof corrugated wall system and insulated water resistant floor covering over the thorough soundproofing and insulation. Alex is incredibly intuitive and appropriately suggested his tried and true customization products for which I am very grateful. We travel in hot humid weather more than other temps so Alex installed the perfect Mabru system for our major a/c needs, & very importantly it works fantastically in western dry high hot elevations, too. Beachside Custom Vans did it all perfectly and in a very timely manner. The shop is clean, well organized, very active and moves along smoothly. The surrounding high security, gated entry and fencing protects the merchandise while a large shaded parking area helps keeps you cool. I depend upon Alex's ability to troubleshoot any of his work by phone whenever or wherever I have questions or concerns...he's so patient with me, I'm an electrical systems dunce, and he provides exactly the info needed including personalized instructional videos. Thank you, Alex! Before finding Beachside Custom Vans, I thoroughly seached, questioned, interviewed online groups and businesses to no avail. When you are there for your scheduled conversion, I suggest staying on the beach closeby with multiple hotel and restaurant choices while Alex and crew work their magic just for you. BTW all the other Vans they were converting along with mine were Mercedes brand, their specialty, yet my Ford Transit-250 customization was handled with all the knowledge of constantly updated publications presented through Ford. I have absolutely no regrets working with Alex Jacobson and crew and will give him all my repeat business. Six years of exhaustive research and dreams led me to Beachside Custom Vans. When planning to travel and live full time in a vehicle, details certainly matter! I first met Alex (owner of BCV) after a phone conversation where he invited me to come tour their shop. He spent two hours with me showing me the shop, introducing me to his team members, and allowing me to actually step inside a few of their projects at different stages of the build process. I was impressed with the craftsmanship for sure, but even more impressive was the vibe and positive culture I sensed, starting with their leader and his “why”. Alex doesn’t just own and operate a custom van company, he’s a van lifer himself! Like so many of us drawn to this lifestyle, Alex took the leap of faith awhile back and built his own custom van and lived it! It’s apparent how this decision positively impacted his life. What a wonderful gift Alex got to experience! Now he gets to share that gift with others. So, I also took a leap of faith and placed a deposit for my build that day and what a wonderful decision it was! Throughout the entire build, the professionalism, patience, problem solving skills, and communication were 10/10. Somehow the van they built for me exceeded my expectations inside and out! I spent an afternoon at the shop just before my first North American adventure for a few tweaks and was able to hang out with Alex and his crew. They all took some time throughout the day to personally thank ME?! They expressed how much fun they had building my van and how cool it was and how much THEY loved it! Excellent service! Very professional and they do great work. They have helped me with several things such as swap out my secondary alternator, upgrade my AC, and install more solar. Everybody that works there is very courteous and came right up to me shaking my hand and introducing themselves. They take a lot of pride in their work and it shows. I forget everybody’s names but, Alex, Jonathan, and Brad are stellar! I’ll be back!
