I'm a member of this LCMS church and have found it to be a place of genuine care, deep faith, and community. The pastors are dedicated to teaching God’s Word with compassion and clarity, and providing the sacrament. My boys have enjoyed a small, but vibrant youth group, which is focused on spiritual formation.
I recently visited a friend in St Johns, Florida and we attended service at Celebration Lutheran Church. It wasn't crowded but we got an opportunity to meet the pastor and two members of the church's board of directors. Interestingly, the pastor told us it was his last week. The church isn't doing well and he's moving on to another church. Once we met the two board members we understood why the church has struggled to attract new members. Super elitist people that call themselves Christians. These are the kind of Christians that look down their nose at their own members. No grace at this church. We wont be back. The national Lutheran church should look into Celebration Lutheran because the leadership of this church seems out of step with the national Lutheran body of churches. Something is amiss at this church.
If you are looking for a church where you feel welcomed, filled spiritually through Gods word, and enjoy great fellowship… Celebration is the place for you. Come and join us in celebrating the love of our Lord and Savior. See you Sunday!
This is a dying church and one which walks contrary to Jesus. In one year it will likely cease to exist. Go some where the Gospel is preached and practiced.
Very thankful to Celebration Lutheran for their Memorial Day display of Foridian service members. Very moving. Well done. Hope it becomes an annual event.
