DCS Electrician & Generators

started looking around for someone to put in a standby generator after the last round of outages got old. talked to three companies. DCS was the only one who actually came out to look before quoting instead of throwing a number over the phone. the tech sat with me on the porch and went through fuel options and what size made sense for what we run. install was scheduled about two weeks out, done in a day. follow up call from the office a week later to check in. nice touch

This started with me trying to figure out whether to repair the old generator or just replace it. I called around and most places wanted to sell me a new unit before they even looked at what I had. DCS was different in that the person I spoke with actually asked questions about the age, the last time it ran, and what kind of issues I was seeing before giving me any direction. They sent a tech out for a diagnostic and he was honest that repair was possible but probably not worth it given what else was likely to go in the next couple years. No pressure either way, just laid out both options with real numbers. I decided on replacement and the install was scheduled for the following week. Two techs on site, took about half a day, and they stepped me through the new controls before leaving. A month in and it's cycled through its self tests without any issues. The follow up call to check in was a nice touch.

Once we got tired of resetting clocks atter every outage, we called about having the generator looked at. the tech was here 45 minutes, tested twe things i didnt understand, and told us plainly that ours was fine and we didn't need anything doing. easy to talk to and no upsell at the end of it.

Had a bad outlet in the bathroom that wasn't working. DCS sent a guy out, he replaced it with a GCFI in like 20 minutes.Carged a fair minimum service fee. Easy & fast. No complaints
