After being home for a few days now I decided I really wanted to write a more thorough review. Please bear with me it’s long, but I have so much to say about how amazing my experience was. Raquel was absolutely fantastic! She kept me informed every step of the way! She genuinely cared about how I was doing throughout my stay and always encouraged and applauded me. The team of doctors that worked with me, made me feel like I was in charge of my care as long as it was to benefit my recovery and that goes without saying, is an amazing feeling! Sarah B with PT did so much work with me that I find now to be helpful at home as well. She was always so supportive and positive and never made me feel pressured to step outside of what I was comfortable doing. Mari the nurse was exceptionally attentive and she cares about her patients. Putting them first always. Her care is phenomenal. Jody in the kitchen, stopped by to make sure I was getting foods/meals that I wanted during my stay. He always asked how I was doing and took the time to be a positive aspect of my stay! He cares about the patients and making sure they are all feeling great about the meals they’re ordering. His attention to detail and getting to know patients to me was above and beyond. Kim was my nurse the first day I was at Encompass & I had a very hard first day. She never waited for my call bell, she continued to check on me as often as she could. She kept me loaded up on warm blankets, empathy, compassion, & I couldn’t help but think I’ve never met a more attentive, empathetic and compassionate nurse especially when I was feeling at rock bottom. The night staff were nothing short of incredible. I rarely had to ask for more ice water they would come in and if my cup was empty, refill it. They took their time in caring for me at night especially when I was in pain or having a hard time sleeping. The OT & PT staff as a whole are absolutely 10 out of 10. I met so many people and I don’t remember everyone by name or I’d go on and on…. I will say; as a whole they all never made me feel unheard or unseen. I never lost my sense of dignity at Encompass like I have felt so many times in the hospital. I was only there a short time but I have to admit it was hard to leave. The bonds and relationships you form in such a short amount of time because of how hands on everyone is, will carry me for years to come!! I want to thank every single person I had an encounter with, a conversation with, or I simply just met briefly; not even once did I have anything but a positive encounter. I want to continue on but it would be repetitive at this point. I’ll end with this. If I needed to trust someone I love in the care of a rehab facility; I’d do whatever it took to get them to Encompass. The impact on me was far greater than my words could ever express.

Overall, the care at Encompass Rehabilitation was very good. However, there were a few disturbing things that happened while I was there. I was being glucose tested because they said I was a diabetic, which I am not (very concerning); I initially felt I was being released too soon after only six rounds of physical therapy. I was asked by the rehab doctor not to appeal the decision. There was another incident where I questioned a medication and the nurse told my doctor that I was confused. Dr. Farhat didn’t think I was and understood the problem after I explained to him what had happened. The team that ordered my walker for my home ordered one that is too tall for me which the PT told me four days after I got home, during my evaluation. I am still waiting for a replacement, shorter walker from the medical supply company. As an overall place for rehabilitation after hip surgery, I would still recommend Encompass, as the staff, OTs and PT‘s were very good. The food was above par, which is unusual for facilities such as this, so that was a positive. Most of the nurses and staff that served me while I was there were excellent and attentive. The facility is fairly new and the rooms were well appointed. I would certainly recommend Encompass Rehabilitation as the place to go for your rehab stay.
Everyone at Encompass was AWESOME!!! They all made me feel like Family, while still being professional and efficient. Their skill and knowledge were extreme and their encouragement and immediate helpfulness was beyond anything I have ever seen. I will HIGHLY recommend Encompass to everyone!! Thank you Encompass!!!
Never really experiencing, or understanding Rebab before I was awaken to a whole new world. I entered in a very immobile state, in less than 14 days the PT/OT staff had me up and running! Every day we worked on stretching and strengthening and it all worked well. Now I have mobility with a walker and I am home walking the neighborhood regularly. Very pleased with my care. Dr Farhat was there almost every morning , 7am, evaluating my wound care, swelling and water retention, and my overall heart health. His presence was very reassuring and his examination’s thorough . And the nursing staff was excellent. The meals were well prepared and diverse. I would recommend this facility to any one I know or will meet. Encompass has a very dedicated professional staff.
My experience at Encompass health Rehabilitation Hospital is positive. The employees, including Doctors, Nurses and other staff such as the people who brought meals were all kind and friendly. I would recommend Encompass heath to anyone I know.
