Founded on October 6, 1883, the First African Missionary Baptist Church in Green Cove Springs, Florida, is a pillar of local Black history. Located at 433 N. Palmetto Avenue, the congregation has faithfully served its community for well over a century, functioning as a vital spiritual and cultural anchor.Historically, the church has been deeply embedded in the civic and social life of Clay County. Its ongoing legacy is celebrated during annual milestones and community-wide gatherings, such as the city's Martin Luther King Jr. Day ceremonies. The institution remains active today, preserving the heritage of generations of African American families in the area
