FIRST COAST MIDWIFERY & BIRTH CENTER

This is my second birth experience at the midwifery and I can’t say enough about what positive experiences I’ve had. All the midwives are great and I’d love to give a huge shout to midwife Brittany who was a student during my first birth experience and is now a midwife during my second birth experience. She is so nurturing and such a comforting presence. During both of my births she gave such encouraging words and made this such a positive experience both times.

I just gave birth to my third baby on Thursday. This was my first time going natural and it was a wonderful experience! I had two friends recommend FCM when I got pregnant. Sam is the best and knows what she’s doing, it’s nice to have someone with confidence walking alongside you. I love that she and her team try to treat concerns naturally first. I had a few complications that almost made me risk out of having a birth center birth, but I was so happy when they were resolved. Sandy, the student midwife/office personnel is wonderful and makes you feel at home every visit. Another thing I loved was that my kids were always welcome at the visits and even got to be involved! I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Looking forward to having more births here!

I had the best experience with this practice as a first time mom! First of all the office is super inviting and feels like a home. I primarily got to know Sam and Sandy. They are all are down to earth and made me feel comfortable and at ease. Unlike a traditional doctor office there is hardly any wait time for your appointment and you actually have time to ask questions and get to know them. One time I had to get a clearance letter sent to my dentist and Sharon had it there within the hour! My dentist said normally they wait three days for that paperwork. Sam attended my birth and followed my preferences for a hands off birth. I felt incredibly supported by her through my labor; she said the exact right things I needed to hear. She even snapped a few photos for me since I didn’t have a birth photographer, and I’ll treasure them forever. I was blessed to have my dream physiological birth experience. It was incredibly intimate and special. Another woman made note of Sam’s suturing skills and I can also attest to having a very quick and seamless healing from my tear. In general my recovery was very fast. I hope to have more children and that I can birth them all at FCM.

I had my first child with First Coast Midwifery in their birth center. It was everything I hoped for and more. Sam is the most amazing human and midwife. She had answers for all my questions and concerns and really put me at ease about having an unmedicated birth. She is also the queen of sutures…so if you tear, like I did, she will stitch you up good as new!! The birth center she has created makes you feel like you are home. It does not feel like a hospital or a “medical” setting, yet it is fully equipped to handle an emergency if needed. Sam and her team come highly recommended by myself, my fiancé and my little girl she brought safely into this world!
