Hero Family Martial Arts

Joining Roderick's Family Martial Arts has been one of the best decisions we've made for our daughter and for ourselves! Highly recommended. My daughter asked us when she was getting her uniform halfway through her trial class. We signed up that day! Mr. Greenwood is nothing short of spectacular. His professionalism, energetic presence, and passion for instruction are truly inspiring. Every class is an opportunity for our daughter to learn and grow under his expert guidance. Equally impressive is Ms. Castillo, who is a quiet yet commanding presence. She brings a comforting and majestic atmosphere to the dojo. She has a remarkable way of encouraging students while maintaining a serene and respectful environment. Our daughter needed more structure and discipline, and the improvement we've seen in such a short time is remarkable. The environment at Roderick's is impeccably clean, and the seriousness with which the students approach their training is reassuring. It is heartening to see the mutual respect among the students, which reinforces the discipline taught here. At the end of her very first class my daughter told Ms. Castillo, "I REALLY want to get my Black Belt!" She practices at home daily without me having to ask. That's HUGE for us!. We knew absolutely NOTHING about karate so it was a culture shock for us but they gently brought us up to speed very quickly. The receiving of the white belt ceremony seriously was an awesome experience so please have your cameras READY to document the official start of your child's journey! We are thrilled with our decision to join Roderick's and look forward to watching our daughter continue to grow under the exceptional instruction of Mr. Greenwood, Mrs. Castillo, and alongside her fellow students. We all love this place and their instructors. The kids have a great time while they learn a lot! The instructors and the entire staff are amazing. We love spending time with Woodard, Master Roderick himself, and Mrs. Castillo. Specially her is great with parents and so patient. Junior, Mr Joel, being only a teenager, shows great maturity and treats kids and everyone with the most respect.

Amazing environment for everyone. Extremely positive and energetic, always keeping everyone honest and engaged. My two daughters love training here. They have made a lot of new friends and have definitely mature in the short time. I also joined and was embraced immediately. Cannot say enough things about everyone in the whole school to include the entire leadership. Very happy we found them.

My nephews love Hero! The instructors are kind and clear and both boys love going and getting their energy out while also learning proper form. Hero teaches respect and teamwork and offer adult classes as well. Great place and amazing people!
