WARNING! Please, I beg you, do not go to this dentist. I am deeply disappointed and frustrated with the care—and complete lack of accountability—at this practice. Exactly four weeks ago, Dr. Porter placed a permanent crown on a tooth that had a prior root canal. The bite was left too high, which caused the crown to rock, broke the cement seal, and allowed bacteria to leak beneath the crown, causing a foul odor and gum tenderness. When I went in to have this brand-new, failing restoration corrected, Dr. Porter refused to treat me. Just fixed the bite, and instead of removing the loose crown, cleaning the bacteria, and standing behind her work, she dismissed me entirely. She referred me to a periodontist and another general dentist, providing absolutely zero actual help or relief. I left the office in tears! This crown failed within one month due to an unadjusted bite, yet the practice refused to take responsibility or provide clinical courtesy to fix its own recent work. If you expect a dentist who stands by their craftsmanship and treats patients with basic empathy and professionalism, look elsewhere.

Avoid this dental practice at all cost or it will cost you. They are seemingly nice people but truly only concerned about how much money they can get from you and your insurance. Since they were so poor in estimating how much money my insurance would pay I ended up paying a lot for a cleaning that was nowhere near as good/thorough as any of my previous 100+ cleanings with other dentists.

I’ve been coming to this office for under a year and previously had a positive experience, but my visit today was different. I mentioned to the assistant that I had brief discomfort and suspected a cavity. After X-rays, there was ongoing conversation between the dentist and staff about various tasks, but nothing was clearly communicated to me. No one addressed me directly, made eye contact, or indicated they were speaking to me, so I understandably assumed the conversation wasn’t about my case and tuned it out. It wasn’t until the hygienist began cleaning my teeth that I was told I had cavities. I was surprised—not only by the diagnosis, but also that my initial suspicion was correct—and caught off guard since no one had clearly informed me beforehand. When the dentist returned, her tone felt dismissive. She said, ‘you said it yourself’ and later, ‘this is very straightforward,’ which came across as belittling. I was simply trying to understand, not challenge the diagnosis. Clear communication is essential in a healthcare setting, and this experience left me feeling uncomfortable. Because of this, I won’t be returning for further treatment.
