I don’t think this golf course is getting talked about enough. The guys in the pro shop were super helpful and accommodating. The course was in pretty good condition especially for the middle of summer. A few bare spot here and there but, what course doesn’t have that, otherwise it was in great condition and you could tell it was kept up with, not super over grown or neglected. The course provided a good challenge requiring accuracy to hit on greens and fairways but was just open enough to allow for a missed shot or two. The par threes were the best being at a good distance to save a good score but still provide some challenge. Was told it wasn’t beginner friendly but I would say it’s a mixed bag of difficulty and forgiveness. I would highly recommend this course. My wife was able to enjoy it as well and it was her first time golfing.
The golf course is excellent (with the minor exception that some of the greens have some bare spots). It only took us 45 minutes to get there on a weekday in morning traffic from our neighborhood which is near Wolfson HS and Bolles school. Everyone there is friendly, the people in the clubhouse, the starter, the "partender" who provided cold beverages, the waitress, the other players. The neighborhood in which the course winds is very nice also.
After a good round of golf the food at the club was great. Though it was only a temporary menu item, the mussels were pleasantly chewy, musky from the garlic, and tangy from the tequila and lime. The downstairs room resembles a sort of cavern, dimly lit with a hidden cave vibe, which is kind of romantic and mysterious. I wish I lived closer to Magnolia Point, it's one of my favorite courses in the Jacksonville area, easygoing with a nice clubhouse.
Justin is super helpful. He cares about his members and the course. It’s not an easy place to play and they have some great membership packages. Food looks amazing and staff is super helpful in the restaurant even ordering drinks.
Came down to visit my parents during TPC weekend. Really enjoyed the course , it was challenging but also fair! Course was in great condition for it being the start of the season. Also front desk and guys at the shop were awesome as well. Highly recommend!
