Quick Review If you're looking for a fancy seafood restaurant, this isn't it. If you're looking for fresh, perfectly fried seafood, generous portions and friendly service this is your place. Every meal we ordered was excellent, the staff was great, and we'll definitely be stopping here again the next time we're passing through Jacksonville. Now for the details... Our family was heading home from Orlando after fighting traffic and delays all day. We had hoped to make it into Georgia before stopping, but "hangry" won. My wife has a knack for finding great local restaurants, and once again she found a hidden gem. This is a simple, down-to-earth seafood spot. Nothing fancy, and it doesn't try to be. What it does offer is fresh food, huge portions, friendly people, and outstanding value. My wife ordered the catfish nuggets plate. The catfish was fresh and flavorful, and the fries were hot and crispy. (pictured) One of my boys ordered the tilapia and chicken dinner. I didn't try the chicken, but he said it was excellent. I did steal a bite of the tilapia, and honestly, it may have been the best fish we ordered. It was flaky, perfectly fried, well seasoned, and absolutely delicious. My other son ordered the scallops and chicken wings. His official review was simply, "It was fire." I think that says enough. I couldn't decide what to order, so I went with the Pick 3 and chose flounder, white fish, and shrimp. When they brought my plate out, I couldn't believe how much food there was. Check out the picture—it could easily feed two people. I also didn't realize every plate comes with fries, so there was even more food than I expected. Vacation calories don't count anyway, right? Oh, and the Shrimp!! YES!! Everything on my plate was cooked perfectly. Don't get me wrong, all the fish was really good, but the tilapia is by far my favorite fish there. Before your food comes out, they'll ask if you want their seasoning. I have no idea what's in it, but say yes. They season everything with it, and it's fantastic. We also ordered fried pickle spears and corn nuggets to start, and both disappeared quickly. The tartar sauce and cocktail sauce were excellent too. One of my kids ordered the blueberry lemonade, and wow...that alone is worth trying. They offer several different lemonade flavors, and if the blueberry is any indication, they're doing those right too. The restaurant itself was clean, although the dining room is fairly small, probably seating around 30 people. They also have a drive-thru, and the staff was genuinely friendly throughout our visit. From what I understand, there are several Mr. Snappers locations, and they're open late, which is a huge plus when you're traveling. If you're counting calories, this probably isn't your stop. But if you're craving fresh seafood, crispy fried goodness, generous portions, and a meal that leaves you full and happy without emptying your wallet, Mr. Snappers absolutely delivers. We'll definitely be back. Don't just read about it... Come and See. Taste and See.

I ordered food to go at 3am. Fried catfish, shrimp, chicken wings and boneless wings. All excellent. Onion rings were a worthwhile upgrade from the fries but I enjoyed them both. They get fried food right. Service was fast and drive through is easy. Order direct on the website.
Goldmind… hidden gem. First of all, I love chicken livers and don’t see them often on the menu. I ordered the 4 item platter and it was amazing. Livers, scallops, shrimp, oysters. Everything was great. People friendly, cooks said hello when I came in.
Hot fresh and delicious not to be confused with Miami Snappers but they are good and do have conch salads and fried conch
I recently moved from ATL to Jax. There is a place in Atlanta that I love called JJ's that I miss so much! I chose to try Mr. Snappers out for dinner. I placed an order online and mistakenly ordered at the 103rd street location. I reached out to them and they were so helpful. They told me not to worry, they would call the Dunn Ave store to have it made at that location. When I got to the Dunn Ave location, they received the call and prepared my order for me. I wish I would have taken a pic of my food, but I got right to it. It was soooo good! I had the flounder & fries. I will definitely be back! Thank you for the great hospitality & food!
