I attended Sunday service while vacationing, It was one block from my hotel. I was warmly welcomed at the door & had a great cup of coffee. The worship was powerful, the message biblical & inspiring. It’s a very homey atmosphere with a memorable message. I enjoyed the service & if I lived in Jax I definitely would come back.
15 years ago I was put in Foster Care by the youth pastor. Today I let that go with the push & welcome of my friends to attend this church. I don't know what my attendance will be for this church or in general but I am eternally grateful.
This church is our family. We love it because it has a nice smaller amount of people so it makes it easier to form meaningful relationships. There's a lot of opportunities to come together and grow together socially through weekly city groups and monthly meet ups. My favorite part of this church is the people, worship, and of course the weekly messages. Whoever is up front to deliver a message definitely leaves you feeling spiritually fed.
This was my second time visiting this Church I was very disappointed the Pastor did not even mention what happened yesterday at the Trump rally. Someone lost their life and President Trump was nearly killed the Pastor didn't even mention it extremely strange we should have prayed for the family that lost a loved one as well as prayed for the President and our Country overall. It's not about politics it's a spiritual issue going on but the Pastor chose to ignore and crack jokes and talk about waterfalls.
OCC just feels like home. I have been in churches my whole life and this one is such a gem. I never feel like I have to be perfect or have my stuff together before I walk in to worship and grow. From the teachings to the worship to the community groups to the lessons our children learn, there is always a focus on God's rescuing grace. So grateful for the constant reminder to choose freedom!
