We had about 45 minutes before our movie, so Piesanos in St. Augustine seemed like the perfect stop. I started with an Old Fashioned. The bourbon selection was pretty limited with Jim Beam, Maker's Mark, and Knob Creek. It ended up being a good drink, but the presentation could use some work. The whole orange slice and inexpensive maraschino cherries made it feel less premium than it could have. The complimentary garlic rolls came out hot and fresh. They had a nice hint of Italian seasoning but were definitely on the oily side. A side of marinara for dipping would have made them even better. We ordered a large pepperoni pizza, and it looked exactly how a stone fired pizza should. The crust had a nice char, the cheese was perfectly melted, and they were generous with the pepperoni. The tomato sauce was a little richer than what I grew up with in the Ohio Valley where pizza sauce tends to have a deeper flavor. After adding some crushed red pepper, though, the pizza really came together and was excellent. Overall, PieSanos served a very good pizza in a comfortable atmosphere with friendly service. It is not my favorite pizza in Florida, but it is one I would happily order again if I am in the area
The Pizza Boyz rolled into Piesanos in St. Augustine and had a great night overall. We kicked things off with calamari and meatballs, and the kitchen even sent out bonus garlic rolls—which were a fantastic start to the meal. Everything hit the table hot and flavorful. Service was excellent. Cameron took great care of us all night—friendly, attentive, and very good at handling our usual Pizza Boyz nonsense 😄. Mike, the manager, also stopped by to check on us and made sure everything was going well, which we always appreciate. Pizza highlights of the night: Antico Pizza – The star of the show. Think crispy, almost bar-style crust topped with pepperoni and melted mozzarella. Fantastic texture and flavor. Easily our favorite of the evening. Custom Sausage & Mushroom – Great taste and balance. The only small note: we’d love to see larger mushroom slices next time, but it certainly didn’t ruin the pizza. Sriracha Hot Honey Pepperoni with Fresh Mozzarella – This one wins the award for most unique flavor. Sweet, spicy, and really interesting. Margherita – Our only mild disappointment. We asked for extra sauce on a pizza that already included roasted tomatoes, and it threw off the balance a bit. In hindsight, the original recipe probably would have been better. Overall, we’d definitely recommend Piesanos for pizza and appetizers if you’re in St. Augustine. Great food, great service, and a fun atmosphere. Final score from the Pizza Boyz: 4.5 pizza slices out of 5. 🍕🍕🍕🍕½ And again—thanks to Cameron for making the night fun and keeping everything running smoothly!
We dined in tonight, August 8th, around 8:30 PM. The food was good, but unfortunately, the service was so disappointing that we will not be coming back. Our waitress was extremely rude and seemed to have a major attitude from the beginning. She came to our table maybe three times during our entire visit. We thought the menu said that the dinners came with a salad, so we asked her nicely about it. She responded, “For $3.99,” while shaking her head and giving us a very obvious attitude. We simply said, “Oh okay! We just thought it said all dinners.” Her response was, “YEP….. for $3.99. Do you want a menu?” again with a very rude tone. After that interaction, she barely acknowledged our table. Our cups were empty for about 20 minutes without a refill, and she never came back to check on us. Meanwhile, a gentleman came in, and she spent the next 20 minutes talking with him and giving him her full attention. It’s completely fine to be happy to see a friend, but you still have other customers who deserve to be taken care of. We also noticed she was speaking to the two tables behind us with the same attitude, so unfortunately, it didn’t seem like it was just our experience. The food itself was good, which makes the poor service even more disappointing. Unfortunately, the service completely overshadowed the meal, and we will not be returning.
Had an amazing first time at Piesanos, took my girl on a date and ended beautifully. Shout out Lizzie she was an amazing waitress!! THE HOUSE GARLIC BREAD IS GOD TIER ✨ BEST IVE EVER HAD HANDS DOWN…. Had the pepperoni pizza and that also was great. Would recommend!
I was recommended about this place by some friends. It was my first time there and it was relatively slow. But then again, it was a Monday and dinner barely just started. I was greeted graciously by the host(blonde hair didnt catch her name😬)and was seated promptly. I ordered the meatball sub, and it was absolutely delicious. My server, Cameron, did a remarkable job! She was joyful, very attentive, and excelled at her position. As a customer, you can tell who goes above and beyond. That was the case with Cameron this evening. I couldn't applaud her more. I would rate this six stars if I could. Would recommend!
