  I visited Sacred Heart Thrift Store today and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. I watched someone donate an iron, and the staff member receiving it didn’t even offer a “thank you.” Instead, she commented that it was a nice iron but that she didn’t want it because she doesn’t iron. That felt extremely unprofessional and unappreciative toward someone choosing to give. I also took advantage of the advertised “fill a bag of books for $2” deal, especially for children’s books. After filling the bag, the worker tried to charge separate prices for certain books, claiming they “should have been labeled.” That was not stated anywhere beforehand, and when another worker asked earlier, she even said there were no limitations. Then she did it again for another book. If there were restrictions on which books qualified, that should have been clearly explained from the start. I usually love supporting thrift stores, especially ones connected to a mission but this experience felt disorganized and lacking basic courtesy. I hope the store improves communication and customer service moving forward. I wouldn’t recommend.
