Worst dental experience I’ve ever had. I came in for a routine cleaning and instead spent the entire appointment being sold multiple different “cleanings,” dental trays, and thousands of dollars in treatment. After all that, they told me I needed to schedule another appointment for the actual cleaning. I left without even getting my teeth cleaned. It felt more like a sales pitch than a dental appointment. Absolute money grab and completely unethical. I would never go back or recommend this place to anyone.
Do you like being gaslit, robbed, and made to feel like you apparently don’t ever actually take care of your teeth? I first came here in 2024 after not having seen a dentist for maybe 6 years. I had never ever in my life up to that point had any issues with my teeth, other than a cavity as a kid that was in a baby tooth. Otherwise? Pretty stellar patient. Came here and felt like I had never taken a toothbrush or floss to my teeth and had terrible gums. They came up with this whole treatment plan post-xrays where they said that I had the “beginning signs of periodontal disease,” cavities, needed a deep cleaning, etc. and quoted me an astronomical amount of money for treatment with dental insurance. I was shocked, but I figured maybe I really had done that much damage not having seen a dentist in that long (even though I knew I took care of my teeth at home). I came back and had the deep cleaning done, as well as a cavity or two - I genuinely don’t remember - filled. I paid over $200. After this appointment, something in me told me not to go back. Flash forward to several months later, I get a bill in the mail stating I owe another $50-some odd dollars. I called the practice for clarification which I never got, and it seemed like maybe they have a coding/billing issue where they either don’t submit initial claims at all or they resubmit them under new CPT codes because the code the office was claiming I was being billed for was something I didn’t even have done, nor was it a code listed on my finalized claim from my insurance for that date of service. The girl in the office claimed that it must be because my insurance just has their code listed as a different code. I work in insurance, I work in healthcare. We’ll just…move on from that. Anyway! Here we are in 2026. I finally found a new dentist and had the initial consultation appointment. I was explained to THOROUGHLY that I: do not have any signs of periodontal disease, I would not need nor should I have ever gotten a deep cleaning done, I wasn’t quoted any insane treatment plans or told I was riddled with cavities, and the cavity that *was* filled by Sage Dental was improperly filled. Not only was it improperly filled, they nicked the tooth next to it with the trill and then decided to cover it with bonding. Needless to say, my new dentist wasn’t impressed. And even further to say, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRACTICE!!!!! Save your money, time, sanity, and teeth.
Dr Catalano and Michael the receptionist are fantastic. Dr Catalano helped me twice on short notice dealing with a dry socket while waiting on my surgeons office to reopen post wisdom tooth surgery and provided me with tons of relief in the time in between.
I contacted Sage for my mother's care in Neptune Beach, FL, and was extremely pleased with the professionalism and compassion shown from the front desk to the xray tech to the hygenist to Dr. Steph. The exam was very thorough and the explanation of the issues were well-explained with solutions that made sense. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
