Lets start with service, the greeter was very friendly and accommodating since we were a big group. The server was great and quick. Food was very good and portions were just right. I think price are a little on the high side but still manageable. Now parking is a little small and tight for the size of the restaurant. I will definitely go back when visiting St. Augusrine!!!

Salt Life Food Shack was a great stop during our St. Augustine trip! The atmosphere is laid-back and beachy, exactly what you’d expect from a place called Salt Life, but the food ended up being even better than I expected. We started with both the Lobster Butter Grilled Oysters and Crab Baked Oysters, and both were GREAT. For our entrée we had the Surf & Turf with filet medallions and lobster, and that was PERFECT. The filet was cooked just right, the lobster was delicious, and everything worked really well together. We definitely tried our share of the drink menu too 😂. We had the Elevated Patrón Margarita, Papa’s Lunch, and a strawberry daiquiri, and every drink was on point. Between the oysters, that surf & turf, the drinks and the relaxed coastal atmosphere, we had a really good experience here. Salt Life is definitely somewhere I’d come back to the next time we’re in St. Augustine!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Had an absolutely amazing experience at Salt Life in St. Augustine! The sushi was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. I also ordered a poke bowl, and it was hands down one of the best I’ve ever had—packed with fresh ingredients, perfectly balanced flavors, and a generous portion size. What really made the visit exceptional was our server, Hallie. She was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and made us feel welcome from the moment we sat down. Her recommendations were spot on, and she made sure everything was perfect throughout our meal without ever being overbearing. Between the outstanding food, great atmosphere, and top-notch service from Hallie, this was a five-star experience from start to finish. If you’re in St. Augustine and looking for amazing sushi, poke bowls, and exceptional customer service, Salt Life is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back!
We ended up here three times in one week, which pretty much tells you everything you need to know. We hit it for a late night dinner, a happy hour, and a regular dinner, and every time it delivered. Great vibe, lively without being overwhelming, and exactly what you want when you’re in St. Augustine. The food was consistently solid across the board. We had the baked oysters twice and they were on point both times. The happy hour wings were a great deal, really good flavor and perfect with drinks. We also tried multiple sushi rolls and the ahi tuna salad, both were excellent and felt fresh, clean, and well done. Nothing overcomplicated, just well-executed, coastal-style food that hits the spot every time. Drinks were on point too, especially during happy hour. Easy place to settle in and hang for a while. Service, for the most part, was great. Friendly, quick, and kept things moving. Only hiccup the entire week, we popped in a fourth time and figured while waiting for our table we grab a few drinks at the bar. There were four of us, ready to grab drinks, and the bartender never even acknowledged us, not once. Not only is that an easy $60-$100 bar tab while we wait... we ended up leaving (who wants to wait without a drink) and going down the street instead. That said, one miss out of multiple visits doesn’t outweigh how good everything else was. This is one of those go-to spots you keep coming back to when you’re in town.
We had dinner at Salt Life Food Shack and ordered a variety of dishes across the table; everything was excellent. I ordered from the gluten-free menu: the wood-grilled fish sandwich was absolutely delicious, and the house salad was fresh and well put together. Others in our group tried the chicken Alfredo, hamburgers, sushi, and soups, plus a few additional dishes; all of it was very tasty and came out well prepared. Service was a standout; our waitress was attentive, friendly, and kept everything moving smoothly. The atmosphere was lively without feeling overwhelming, and the live band added the perfect touch to the evening. We’ll definitely be back.
