Zero stars. The place had some interesting inventory but it was filthy, difficult to navigate, the prices were high, and the man running it was rude to my partner because my eight month old had the audacity to babble in his store. If you have a family, take your business elsewhere. Edited for response to owner: if this WERE my child, I must have been out of sight when my partner held her over his head, because I would never allow such recklessness, especially in a tight space with so many obstacles. I did not hear her cry, and in such a small space I would have. I find your claims extremely unlikely, but I still take your response seriously. I do not condone or support any lack of safety, and take my childs safety in particular very seriously. while I'm extremely skeptical as to the severity of what was seen at your establishment, or whether it was even my child and partner in question (which I believe it was not) I will, if only Out of an abundance of caution, be the one to hold her on outings moving forward. Further, I'm confused as to why a customer would call asking about a baby that wasn't theirs. To what end would anyone call a store they saw a baby cry at once in passing? Even out of concern, they should have spoken to us/me/my partner that day if they were truly impacted. That being said, all may rest assured, my child is happy, safe, and has gone thrifting with us at other establishments several times since with zero incident. I apologize for the misunderstanding with the gentleman running the shop that day as well, he was cold to me as well but i suppose it was just that a misunderstanding. Vendor pricing I understand, but you may want to hire new cleaners if thats how the place looks being tended to twice weekly. I appreciate your response, and I'm glad you take reviews to heart.

One of the best collectible shops I’ve ever visited. The selection is outstanding, with a huge variety of unique and hard to find items that appeal to collectors of all kinds. The owners are incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely passionate about what they do. What made the visit even better was hearing the stories behind many of the collectibles and the experiences they’ve had over the years. It gives the shop a character and personal touch that you just don’t find anymore. What really amazed me is that no matter how many times you visit, you’re bound to discover something you missed before. With collectibles displayed from floor to ceiling, every corner has something worth checking out, and it’s incredibly easy to lose track of time while browsing. If you’re anywhere near Fernandina Beach, this is a must visit for any collector. I can’t recommend it enough.
I was visiting Amelia Island with a friend when we stumbled upon House of Collectibles, and I'm so glad we did! My friend knew I was a collector of nostalgic items, so we had to stop by. The shop is packed with all kinds of treasures from the past, especially records and toys from the 70s. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. French, who I believe is either an employee or the owner. He was incredibly helpful and welcoming, always wearing a big smile and making sure that every customer felt valued. His enthusiasm for the store and its items was infectious! I picked up a few VHS tapes (since my suitcase was a bit limited), but I can’t wait to make another trip to this gem. The shop has so many nostalgic items, from books and toys to VHS tapes, records, cassettes, DVDs, and more. It’s the perfect spot for collectors and anyone who loves old-school hobbies. You could easily spend hours browsing the shelves, discovering items that bring back great memories. Definitely a must-visit if you're in the area!
Place had a nice collection of things to look at. However, most of the prices were extremely high. And when question about whether they would take offers, the workers were extremely rude when a simple no would have done. Their Pokémon cards were extremely overpriced above market. But when I questioned whether they would take an offer on some of the items, they were very defensive and said they don’t come down on Pokémon people come in and buy it for what it’s priced all the time. Was definitely a letdown, as I thought the store was pretty cool and they had a cool inventory.
Fun local store packed with vintage books, magazines, toys, and records. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in town.
