Pepper's Cocina Mexicana & Tequila Bar

We were fortunate, being our first time visiting this place, to have Claudia as our server. She did splendidly and very helpful. The food was tasty, especially the salsa and guacamole and queso. My wife chose the Ceviche Mixto appetizer and taco/taco combination plate, whereas I chose the burrito and taco combination plate. Our friends chose the taco salad and quesadilla plate.

I had a fantastic experience at Pepper’s Cocina Mexicana & Tequila Bar and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Fernandina Beach. The food here is excellent and very reasonably priced, which makes it an easy choice whether you’re stopping in for a casual meal or a night out. The fajitas were absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked, flavorful, and served sizzling hot. Pairing them with one of their margaritas was the right move, as the drinks were just as impressive. They have a great balance of flavor and strength, making them some of the best margaritas I’ve had in the area. Service was outstanding from start to finish. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything came out just right without feeling rushed. Another big plus is the convenience—parking is easy, and the location makes it perfect to stroll around and explore the surrounding area before or after your meal. Overall, this place checks all the boxes: great food, great drinks, and great service. It’s definitely a must-visit when you’re in town, and we will absolutely be back.

Pepper's Cocina Mexican Restaurant is a good place for some delicious Mexican dishes and Spanish atmosphere. There is seating outside and inside, also bar seating. The tacos were great, the guacamole was very flavorful and the margaritas were delicious.

We’ve always loved Peppers Fleming Island, so we decided to try the Amelia Island location on Sunday. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with nice big TVs, and we enjoyed watching the game. The food was just as good as we expected. We ordered the Sunday special—fajitas for two for $36—which is a great deal. The margaritas were also excellent! Unfortunately, our experience was affected by our server, Lacey. She seemed to be having a difficult night and left the table several times to answer her phone. It was clear that she was an experienced member of the waitstaff, so I got the impression that she may have had something personal going on. I completely understand that everyone has difficult days, but unfortunately, it did impact our dining experience. That said, we will absolutely continue going to Peppers. One difficult experience won’t change our overall opinion of the restaurant, and we still left Lacey a 22% tip. I just had to lower my review because the service wasn’t up to the standard we’ve come to expect from Peppers. Overall, great food, a beautiful atmosphere, and a great value. We’ll definitely be back!
