This is a great camp run by a great group of people that have servant hearts and a mindset for God's Kingdom. This is a great to put your faith into action by helping to meet the needs of people while spreading the Gospel of Jesus. Such a blessing to our community.
My son stayed here for Spring Break this year, with his school for a mission trip. It was a disaster. Filthy, food was inedible, the camp counselors didn't interact with the students- and when they did, briefly at the beginning, they referred to the group of seniors as middle schoolers. One group of the kids were supposed to build two decks and do some landscaping, but every time they started, someone else would come by and give them different plans. Then the first person would countermand that direction. Few supplies- 1 drill and 1 circular saw at the site- to build two decks? They were completely unprepared for this group of kids. What a waste of time and money.
For the past 7 years, my church youth group has served with Team Effort at a number of their different camps, including: Blue Knob, PA, Myrtle Beach, SC, Clarkesville, GA, Virginia Beach, VA, and Gatlinburg, TN. I have been thrilled by the well trained and energetic staff. They have led our students in worship, teaching, and served with them side-by-side. Each young leader has poured personally into my students, for which I am very grateful. I have been blessed to see their love for the Lord, as well as their desire to impact the students for Christ. We will be returning to Gatlinburg this year!
This was the worst mission trip I have ever been on!! There are too many things to even get started. I will never participate with this group again, and have been so disappointed this whole week!
We have used team effort for the last 12 years and since 2013 we have been doing a middle school and high school trips. Great staff and memorable times.
