After running to grab some fireworks (beating the 4th of July crowd) we were looking for something to eat, we happened upon Vincenzo's tucked away in the Publix shopping center. SO happy we found them! Everything was made to order, delicious and fresh! We had never been there before but felt like family. Everyone was so friendly, the owners and the regulars that were there. We will definitely be back. The Chicken Piccata was amazing! My hard to please 13 year old devoured the wings and then two scoops of Gelato. My husband had the chicken parm sub and loved it. The youngest went for the chicken fingers and fries and ate all of it. The cannoli was the perfect ending to a great meal.
The food was overall not good. Felt like I was catfished with the pictures on their website. The fried calamari was soggy even if it was cooked more I don’t think it would have been good and the marinara sauce was ice cold. The price of the chicken cutlet gnocchi with burrata is insane considering the tiny chicken cutlet which was under the burrata. The burrata was cold would have been way better if it was warm/melted. The gnocchi weren’t bad but why wasn’t the jarred sauce covering all the pasta? There was also pasta water in the plate so it was just very off putting. The pizza looks better in the photo than it actually tasted, no flavor really. Supper disappointed. Overpriced and not good.
We had an appointment in Ponte Vedra after work recently so while we were down there we had dinner at a place we've wanted to try for quite while: Vincenzo's Cucina. They're located at 3787 Palm Valley Road in Ponte Vedra Beach. We started with the Arancini. There were two things that surprised us about it. First, it was way lighter than we expected which ended up being a good thing. I almost voted against it as an appetizer because it's usually a heavy app but I was happy with how light their take is. The other thing is that we were both surprised by was peas being included. Then again, its been a long time since we've had this app so that could be more common than we remember. I ordered Chicken Marsala which came with another surprise, in a very good way. Maybe it's just me but I find that a lot of places go way too sweet with the sauce on this dish. There certainly was a sweet taste to theirs but not overly so. More like a hint, which was good by me. The portion size was very big. So much so that I took half home for lunch the following day. The noodles were VERY good too. I'm no expert so I can't say for sure if they make them there but it certainly tasted like they might. My wife ordered a 12" Hot Honey Hustler Pizza. She's had variants of this type of pizza at a few places around town over the past year. She's actually had to kind of piece it together more than anything by ordering hot honey on the side or adding other things on. So she was excited to see they offer it like she wanted it right out of the gate. She said when you look at the photos you'll probably think it's too much on a pizza but it's not. When you eat it, it's actually well balanced. She liked the quality of the crust too. She took about 3/4 of the pie home, so she'll have some great lunch tomorrow as well. Like I said, we rarely get down to Ponte Vedra but we had a reason to be down there tonight so I'm glad we remembered to stop in at Vincenzo's while we were in the area. Definitely a solid choice for anyone who might be near them. A version of this review originally appeared in the Jacksonville Fun, Eats & Drinks Facebook group.
If I could give zero stars I would. We order to go. We got there they didn’t even start our food. This was the “Sunday Special.” Almost $100 and we got. They also told my husband 15 mins and it was 45 more. 2 minutes turned into 15. We wanted to like them too.
Stopped by on a whim having never been here before. Glad we did! Walked in to dueling piano’s going on, a festive and fun experience and great food! The owner was present and involved with the festivities and was truly a pleasure. The food was great, service was fine and the restaurant was full. Will definitely return.
