Suburban Studios Orange Park - Jacksonville near Naval Air Station

Worst stay ever! Would give zero stars if i could! The Door to our room barely worked. It was a struggle to even enter the room. The Tv did not work. Every channel went in and out due to the poor signal or poor connection. We Reserved a King bed but was told at check in that a double was all they had but the nice young man at the desk said he would try to move us the next day. So we took the room as we were exhausted and ready to relax. Our room had No hot water. The motels website states that it is an extended stay, apartment style motel. Website states rooms have full kitchenettes with cooktops and to enjoy free coffee. I was assuming with a full kitchenette at an extended stay motel there would atleast be a coffee maker in the room. There was no cooktop as stated, no coffee maker, no hair dryer in our room. The motel staff was rude, uncaring, unwilling to help or even willing to hear us out regarding issues with our room. My husband called the front desk the next morning to see about getting us moved and the young lady was not understanding and hung up on my husband. We decided to Check out early due to the fact we felt we were not receiving what we paid for. Could not stay in a room where the tv didnt even work! Not to mention no hot water! During checkout we were given a receipt showing we would be credited for the 2nd night. However, we were charged almost 275.00 total for the worst stay ever. 3 days later I finally got thru to the motel and was told the general manager was out of the country and to call back later this week. We booked thru Choice so I called them. Very unhelpful! Im getting told by the motel front desk that Choice would be the one to issue a refund, Choice says the motel is responsible. I could not even shower in the room we were given! My husband had to take a cold shower! I feel 87.00 a nite is way too much to pay for the state of our room, for the service or lack of service we received and the overall unpleasant experience we received. Choice or Suburban Studio is charging me 275.00 for 1 nite stay! And according to Choice we are going to be charged an additional 102.00 for an early checkout! I would not recommend this motel to anyone! After reading the response from my review I contacted the GM as instructed. He said a refund can take a few days so I waited thinking he was going to refund me for the night I DID NOT stay but still have not received it. I keep trying to call and have left several messages for him. He will not return my calls and so far today I was on hold for him for 57 minutes. I've tried to call 2 more times and my calls are rejected. Staying 1 night in a room with no TV and no hot water and paid 187.00. Even tho I have a receipt showing I should only have been charged 1 night. Will never stay in a Suburban studio motel again or a Choice hotel.

I actually wouldn’t mind staying here if the staff didn’t constantly bother you, every day they bang on the door before it is even check out time even after being told do not disturb my children are being woken up. A man banged and came right on in I screamed I don’t have on any clothes! I didn’t get a chance to get to the door before he just opened it. Becky needs to communicate with her staff better so that they are on the same page and her attitude could be better the staff as a whole could have better attitudes when dealing with people their supposed to serve.

BEWARE - STAY AWAY Checked in at 8:40pm Friday February 13th for a non smoking room into first room and the TV did not work. Tried to call front desk but no answer the first call and a hang up on the second call from room phone. Also called on my cellphone but no answer. Drove back to the office and talked with the young man at the front desk who said he has been working at the hotel for 5 months. Told me to unplug the internet box power and plug it back in and wait for the solid green light. I said I am not a tv/cable repair person and asked for another room. He proceeded to tell me he couldn't give me another room and to try the fix he suggested. I respond ok but if it doesn't work you will have to give me another room. It did not work. I drove back to the reservation/check in office and waited patiently for him to finish 2 other customers. I let him know that his fix didn't work. He then said I will come and help. He came to the room and got the same results as I did. It didn't work. No TV service. I drove back to the reservation/check in/out office and he gave me another room. The room had spiders and roaches. The cooking stove was missing, dead roach on the floor in front of the kitchen sink and two (2)live baby roaches when I woke in the morning. 1 on the shower curtain and one (1)on the top of the toilet. I killed them with tissue and flushed down the toilet. The room mirror was smeared with a film as if it was not properly cleaned and the front window on the hotel room was filthy.The room had not been properly cleaned. Now I was not in my room until 9:45pm. I heard the house keeping pushing a loud cart outside of my room the next morning but no knock at the door for room service. I have a suspicion that the young man who checked me in was aware of these issues by his remarks that he is getting off work in a few hours. Total disdain and lack of care for the customer. I was here for my grandson's birthday. STAY AWAY. I made the mistake of reserving this place for 3 days. Each day got worse. The key cards deactivate daily and the smells coming from adjoining rooms (smoke) coming thru the electric socket in the room. No ventilation fans in the room/bathroom. Reported this to the front desk that strong smoke and toxic smells was entering room while getting room key cards reactivated. She apologized but offered no viable solutions. People hanging out on property looking suspicious and up to no good. I DID NOT bring my grandchildren here. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE.

I can here to visit family for the holiday. The check in was smooth but the room wasn’t what the pictures showed. It had hair everywhere , soap opened and sheets looked like it had been flipped. I went to the front desk and said something about it. Was moved to another room which had hair everywhere still. I was frustrated after traveling 6 hrs to get there. I sucked it up and proceeded to buy a broom from a local store and get it up myself. The room had a bad odor. It was me and my 3 kids and it wasn’t enough towels or washcloths. I went to the front desk to where I was told someone will send some to my room and never received them. Every time we left and came back the keys wouldn’t work. I got so fed up that I checked out at 7am to get the hell out the place. I got my final bill days later and they charged me $50 because one of the towels had juice on it from when my 1 yr old spilled her cup. $50 DOLLARS. I called and said something and was told they will have to see what they can do! Please don’t stay here and get scammed. Updated after talking to someone at the front desk she told me the manager refuse to refund me and doesn’t want to talk to me. I asked her if you can provide evidence that it came from my room and she said no. So they are keeping my $50 for no reason. I will be speaking to my bank
