I have been using Baptist primary care for over a decade and they were a great place with great physicians, but now it seems like they just want to book as many visits as they can to get more money. They will literally charge you a full 90min visit for a 60 second phone call where they tell you test results are were normal. I already knew that the results were normal BECAUSE I CAN READ! In the latest cash grab example; I have been having hip pain that was discussed in a routine visit where Dr. KAWA offered me imaging and I said no at the time because of the cost, but a few months later the pain is more persistent and I sent a message asking for the imaging and instead of just ordering the XRAY, he demands another office visit where I will tell him exactly what I said on the previous visit and he will order the imaging and then demand another visit to go over the results...So that will be 2 more visits plus the cost of the imaging. NO THANK YOU. Now, I completely understand why all of the awesome MD's, and DO's they had in the past have jumped ship. FWIW the office staff and Physician Assistants / Nurse practitioners are always very nice and thoughtful, they should run from Baptist as quick as they can.
I love Dr Harrison and the convenient Nocatee location. With the LAN right next to his office is wonderful! I like my Baptist chart and that my MAYO info shows up. I think he gets overbooked and require to spend little time with the patient. It is okay with me since I am prepared for my appointments!
The overall customer service experience was wholesome. The entire team from the receptionists to the PA/Nurse and finally Dr Kawa leaves me feeling special and having received the best care possible by having any/all concerns addressed in a timely manner. Dr Kawa is thorough and not only treats symptoms but addresses any/all concerns in its entirety. I feel more optimistic about my overall health journey!
My review is only based off of Dr. Stapleton-Mackenzie, but if I could give her 0 stars I would. My 88 year old grandmother came in to her office jaundice, with chest pain, and wanting an answer. Instead Stapleton sent her home with no blood work or imaging done. 2 days later the ER found cancer in her pancreas. PLEASE do not trust this “doctor” with your elderly family members. I hope this never happens to anyone again.
Dr Harrison is great. He is organized and knowledgeable. Willing to make referrals as necessary. Responds quickly to messages via the Baptist Chart app
